WESTERN
FALL BALL -“RULES ®ULATIONS”
TEE-BALL DIVISION
1. All
players bat and play on the field … batting order and field position is at
discretion of manager, but infielders must start on the dirt area of the
infield.
2. Run
Rule: 7 runs cumulative or 3 outs, whichever comes first dictates a turn at bat
for a team.
3. Bunting
is not permitted.
4. Pitcher
and catcher must wear a helmet (preferably with a mask) at all times.
5. The
batter is not allowed to take half swings.
6. All
play stops when the pitcher has control of the ball and touches the pitcher’s
rubber … all runners return to the last base touched.
7. The
pitcher must have his/her foot on the rubber until the ball is hit by the batter.
8. All
runners must stay on base until the ball is hit.
9. The
infield fly rule is waived in tee-ball.
10. There
will be no strikeouts … if a batter continues to “foul” the ball he/she remains
alive.
11. The
batter must have both feet in the batters box while batting.
12. A
coach may assist lining up the batter.
13. One
defensive coach may be on the field with the defensive team.
14. There
will be a circle around the batting area … the first time a batter throws a bat out of the circle
regardless of where the ball is hit it is a “foul ball” … after that it is an
out. (note: this is an umpire judgment
call – just because a bat is out of the circle does not mean the batter has
“thrown” it out … if, in the judgment of the umpire, the bat was properly
dropped by the batter and simply rolled out of the circle, then it would not
have been necessarily deemed to have been “thrown” … totally a judgment call!)
15. On
deck batters are not permitted outside the dugout.
16. Above
all, please enforce the “HAVE FUN” rule for your team.
17. Any
other umpire decisions/rulings will be made based on the Little League rule book.
